INTRODUCTION:

The FG Mini Dredge has been designed for the extraction of sedimented sludge in a lagoon. It basically consists of a catamaran, with two cylindrical floats, a sludge extraction pump and a pivoting dredging system.

The dredging and pumping equipment consists of a pivoting horizontal screw type borer, which digs the sludge from the bottom of the lagoon and drives it to the suction point. The dredger is driven by an oil hydraulic unit.

The dredger is equipped with protections to prevent damage to non-depressible areas. It is indicated for use in lagoons with geotextile. The inclination of the dredging system is regulated by an electric hoist located on a winch of the catamaran.

The sludge extracted from the bottom of the lagoon is discharged to the shore of the lagoon by means of a centrifugal pump with a displaced VORTEX impeller and a floating pipe.

DESCRIPTION:

The FG Mini Dredge is moved longitudinally along a cable that is attached to the ends of the lagoon by means of an electric pulley system. The FG Mini Dredge is controlled from an electrical panel located on the edge of the pond and the power supply is provided by floating hoses.

The dredger starts the automatic cycle by carrying out a positioning manoeuvre that has already been preset and is manually controlled according to the working cycle. Once the starting position has been reached, the cutting head is lowered until the cable release system or a limit switch is activated to signal the lowering stop.

When the head reaches the end of the stroke, the pump and the head are deactivated; the pivoting head is lifted and the dredger returns to the starting position, restarting the dredging cycle.

The objective of this equipment is to protect the WWTP or pumping well from the possible arrival of large objects capable of causing obstructions in the different units of the installation. This operation consists of passing the waste water through a screen that separates and evacuates the bulky materials dragged along. They will retain large-sized solids such as branches, leaves, paper, tree roots, plastics, wipes, rags, etc., preventing damage and blockages to pumps, valves, pipes and other elements present in subsequent treatment processes of the purification plant.
